Franklin Templeton, one of the world's largest asset managers, and Payward — the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken — have announced a collaboration to explore new onchain investment products, with a focus on tokenizing traditional finance assets.
Payward co-CEO Arjun Sethi framed the deal as a structural unlock rather than an incremental step: "What collaborations like this one unlock is a new class of products that wouldn't have been possible even three years ago." The comment points to how far the tokenization infrastructure stack has matured, from custody and settlement rails to regulatory clarity around digital securities.
