Security firm Blockaid has issued an emergency community alert after its exploit detection system flagged an ongoing attack on the Verus-Ethereum Bridge. Approximately $11.58 million has been drained so far, with the attack still active at the time of the alert.
The Verus-Ethereum Bridge serves as the primary cross-chain liquidity corridor between the Verus ecosystem and Ethereum, making a live exploit here a direct threat to any assets currently sitting in or transiting the bridge contract. Cross-chain bridges remain among the most targeted infrastructure in crypto — they concentrate large pools of locked value in smart contracts that must be trusted by both chains simultaneously.
